“With all creation I sing praise to the King of Kings. You are my everything and I will adore You.”
She’s sang these words more times than one can count. They’ve cut to the heart before. They’ve brought healing before. She’s experienced real, genuine, worship with this exact song.
Today is different though.
Because, you see, before today she’s believed some pretty ugly lies about herself. She’s grown up thinking that she is only worth love if she performs well. There are people in her life that only see her when she performs-never just to spend time with her. Satan has told her over and over that if she can only offer the kingdom her voice. She’s also been told-by herself and others- that she would never be enough. She’s believed that she had to work so hard for everyone’s approval. While she was working so hard to earn their approval she forgot that it was ok to make mistakes. Then when she did make mistakes, like everyone does, she thought those mistakes defined her.
She was so consumed with the world and with the hundreds of lies she heard everyday that she forgot where her true identity came from. She forgot that she serves a King that is powerful enough to make her new. She forgot that He who made her does not make mistakes. She forgot that she was too small to ruin the plan that He has for her life.
Today is the day that she gets to share the divine healing that she’s experienced. Today, she knows where her true identity is found. Today she will claim victory over those lies. Today she truly believes that her heavenly Father’s smile, His approval, is all that she needs. She also chooses to believe that His smile is not dependent on her performance. Today she chooses to put on her new self and leave the old self behind. She chooses to be who she was created to be-a worshipper of the Most High King. She will choose to let Him love her even though she doesn’t understand why anyone ever would. Today, she will choose healing and know that she is redeemed.
And when she chooses truth, others can not help but do the same. When she chooses truth she is beautiful and inspiring. When she chooses truth she feels free and alive and worthy.
